Catholic Church Port Douglas
The town of Port Douglas was founded in June 1877 and steps to build a church began in December. The new town of Mossman became a "station" in the parish in 1888. From 1896 to 1904 the parish was attached to the Parish of Cairns, and from 1917 to 1932 the Parish Priest of Mareeba was also the Administrator of Port Douglas.
